Mr. Furrer is admitted to the State and Federal Bars of the States of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Virginia, the Commonwealths of Massachusetts and Pennsylvania, and the United States Supreme Court. His practice focuses on the defense of claims for property damage and the recovery of cleanup costs associated with petroleum spills at service stations, terminals and pipelines as well as counseling clients to assist them in reducing their environmental liability. 

He also focuses on the representation and counseling of corporate clients in franchisee disputes under the Petroleum Marketing Practices Act and in all other aspects of the petroleum industry. Mr. Furrer also assists clients in preparing, drafting and managing supply, equipment leasing, and trademark contracts related to the petroleum industry. He also supports clients in determining, on a case by case basis, the relevant and necessary contracts for each site. Mr. Furrer also supports clients on various commercial matters including contract management, operations, acquisitions, and leasing. It also focuses on the representation and counseling of corporate clients in corporate acquisitions and in all other aspects of the petroleum industry. 

He has been a guest lecturer at several Society of Independent Gasoline Marketers Association of America (SIGMA) meetings as well as at the 2017 Annual Conference of the International Network of Environmental Forensics in Beijing, China, 37th International Symposium on Halogenated Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) - Dioxin 2017 Conference in Vancouver, Canada and the 2018 Annual Conference of the International Network of Environmental Forensics in Salt Lake City Utah.  He has published articles in The New York Environmental Lawyer entitled Pre-Emptive Measures to Reduce Environmental Exposure, and Expert Advocacy in the Legal Setting, in The Journal of Environmental Protection, entitled The Scientist as an Advocate: When and When Not, and the Journal of Environmental Forensics, entitled The Peer Reviewed Technical Literature and the Litigation Process. He is currently Co-General Counsel to SIGMA, and is a partner with the Firm.
